Summary

We are seeking a mindful and caring Reggio Emilia floater teacher to support our toddler and pre-school classrooms (Toddler and Pre-K 3, Pre-K 4), stepping in where needed, while upholding the Reggio-inspired philosophy. 


Responsibilities include supporting daily routines, assisting with activities based on student interests, fostering relationships with children and families, and contributing to a positive, flexible, and responsive classroom environment.


Bilingual Spanish is a plus. Experience with Toddlers/Pre-schoolers (2-3-4 yo's) a must. One Year of classroom experience would be great.

Duties

Provide classroom support: Step in as a support for our toddler or preschool classrooms as required to maintain a consistent learning environment and staff-child ratios.

Uphold Reggio Emilia principles: Help implement activities that are child-centered and emerges from the children's interests, using observation, open-ended questions, and documentation.

Facilitate learning: Engage with children through active participation, asking questions to further their understanding, and supporting their social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.

Maintain a nurturing environment: Ensure the classroom is a positive, safe, and clean space, and build strong relationships with children and their families.

Assist with daily routines: Help with necessary care-giving tasks, to support the lead teachers and classroom staff.

Collaborate with staff: Work collaboratively with other teachers and staff, take direction from lead teachers, and contribute to a positive and professional atmosphere. We are very mindful and caring and we wish for our team member to carry the same values. We work in a strong bond of sisters, where we appreciate each other, and lift each other.

Adaptability and flexibility: Be available full-time. We are moving into our busy season and are at capacity, so we are needing more hands to support our flow on our almost 6-acre campus space with gardens, creek bed on site, and lots of space to be outdoors and to explore by our horses, our creek or gardens.

Requirements

Interest in and understanding of the Reggio Emilia approach and other child development theories.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Flexibility, and adaptability, and a loving heart. 

Physical ability to perform care-giving tasks and supervise children both indoors and outdoors.

CPR and First Aid certification is required.

Minimum of a high school diploma and CDA or relevant training/experiences.

Course work in Early Childhood Education.

A love for our outdoors, as we are on a 5.5-acre campus space, with creek bed, a garden and lots of space for outdoor learning.

AFTER 90 days, for full-time employees: 7 paid weeks off/annually, all closures paid. PTOs. We follow AISD for most of our closure days, and have a break the Memorial Day week, also July-5 week, and again beginning of summer, in addition to one week of spring break, one week for thanksgiving and two weeks for Christmas.



Salary : $18 to $19/Hr
