The New Wheel is hiring Bicycle Shop Customer Service & Sales in San Francisco, CA

In this job you will
- Manage all aspects related to the customers at the Service Center, The New Wheel's central service location in San Francisco
- Sell bicycle components and accessories
- Maintain an organized workspace
- Support the service team

Duties
- Service bike intake
- Sales of accessories and service plans
- Retail space upkeep and Organization
- Quality control of service bikes
- Manage and close cash register
- Shop maintenance and service bike organization
- Welcome service customers to The New Wheel Space
- Check out service customers
- Take payments
- Answer phone
- Answer emails
- Contact customer about parts ready for pick up
- Review service deadline
- Serve Tea/Water/Coffee to customers
- Tidy and organize bikes in the warehouse
- Refresh accessory wall display
- Assist the service team by performing basic service related tasks
- Routinely lift and organize items with weights of 75 lbs
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Experience riding bicycles
- Experience with simple repairs on bikes
- Ability to safely lift 75 lbs
- Should have a strong aptitude for learning a new computer system, Aace, our ERP
- Consistently and accurately follow work-flows
- Should demonstrate adeptness to communicate clearly and empathetically with customers
- Should communicate in a manner that fellow team members would consider "proactive" (for example, when answering a survey)
- Should demonstrate punctuality and a strong ability to manage time
- Should demonstrate a strong ability to independently manage a task list and follow through on projects
- Should demonstrate an eagerness to efficiently solve problems and learn
- Should demonstrate curiosity, enthusiasm and adaptability while participating in the operations of The New Wheel, an evolving small business
- Ability to periodically lift 75 pounds
