Summary

Create a caring and safe learning environment for children. Communicate, listen and work well with others in a team environment. Understand children's cognitive, social, emotional and physical development in order to ensure a safe and stimulating classroom environment where children are actively engaged and encouraged to succeed. Develop a positive relationships with the children and their parents through observing and documenting children's interests and progress and communicating development with parents.

Duties

• Coordinate and implement educational curriculum by developing classroom activities based on developmentally appropriate practice and early learning standards that actively engage children and encourage social, cognitive and emotional growth.
• Actively engage in activities, manage cleanliness, and communicate the availability of classroom materials.
• Maintain frequent communications with parents through informal discussions and Parent Engagement app.
• Encourage self-help and good hygiene through behavior modeling
• Help ensure smooth, daily transition from home to childcare center
• Follow all center policies and state regulations
• Maintain accurate records and forms
• Work towards an Early Childhood Education Certificate within 5 years (Scholarships are available)

Requirements

High energy

Ability to work well with others

Strong oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills

A strong understanding of child development

Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills

Infant/child CPR and First-Aid certification

Must clear full background check

Must pass health screening (TB)

Provide Washington State Food Handlers certification

Provide proof of MMR vaccine

Provide High School diploma or GED
