Future Leaders of Excellence is looking for a dedicated and energetic Lead Childcare Teacher to guide a classroom of young learners in a structured, supportive, and engaging early childhood setting. This role is for someone who naturally steps into leadership, enjoys building meaningful connections with children, and knows how to create a calm but active learning environment where kids can grow with confidence.
As the lead in the classroom, you’ll be responsible for shaping the daily flow of learning, supporting assistant staff, and ensuring children are meeting developmental milestones through hands-on, age-appropriate instruction. You’ll also play a key role in maintaining strong communication with families and keeping the classroom organized, safe, and development-focused.

Duties
- Take charge of daily classroom routines, instruction, and learning activities
- Build and deliver age-appropriate lesson plans that support early development goals
- Guide and support classroom assistants to keep instruction and structure consistent
- Create a positive environment that supports social, emotional, and academic growth
- Observe, track, and document children’s developmental progress
- Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organized classroom space at all times
- Communicate with families regarding updates, milestones, and classroom progress
- Support smooth transitions throughout the day including arrival, meals, and dismissal
- Follow all licensing requirements, safety standards, and center policies
- Attend trainings, team meetings, and ongoing professional development sessions
Requirements
- Experience in early childhood education or childcare setting preferred
- CDA, TCC, or Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education (preferred but not required)
- Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field is a plus
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain within required timeframe)
- Ability to pass all required background checks and health screenings per state guidelines
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to lead a classroom while working closely with a team
- Comfortable being active throughout the day (standing, bending, sitting on the floor, etc.)
- Able to safely lift up to 40 lbs when needed
- Must be able to respond quickly and appropriately to children’s needs and classroom activity
- Willingness to continue growing professionally in early childhood education
Minimum Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Must meet state childcare licensing requirements
- Must be able to work full-time in an active classroom environment
- Must complete all required training and compliance certifications
Nice To Haves
- Prior experience leading a classroom or mentoring staff
- Familiarity with lesson planning and early learning standards
- Experience in tracking developmental progress or using learning documentation systems
- Strong comfort working with families in a professional, consistent communication style
- Ability to support a wide range of learning styles and developmental needs
