Summary
Overview: Under the supervision of the Owner, the Sales Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Foulk's Floor and Home Showroom, including managing service levels, marketing activities, and sales performance. This role involves creating a positive customer experience, ensuring the showroom operates efficiently, and leading the sales team to achieve targets and goals.
Duties
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Showroom Operations
- Open and close the showroom according to established procedures.
- Handle customer service conflicts and claims professionally and effectively.
- Plan, manage, and execute showroom promotions to drive traffic and sales.
- Implement and manage the showroom layout to optimize product presentation and customer experience.
- Oversee the maintenance of showroom appearance and order, ensuring a clean and organized environment.
Marketing and Advertising
- Manage showroom advertising and marketing efforts to increase visibility and attract potential customers.
- Purchase showroom equipment and supplies, ensuring all needs are met and budgets are adhered to.
Customer Service and Experience
- Manage and enhance the overall customer service experience.
- Maintain a high level of professional knowledge about flooring, kitchen, and bath products to better assist customers.
Financial Management
- Manage showroom expenses, ensuring adherence to budget and financial goals.
- Assess and assign sales territories to optimize coverage and performance.
Sales Performance
- Measure, track, and analyze sales performance by individual and by team, using data to drive improvements.
- Recruit, hire, and onboard Account Managers, ensuring they are well-prepared for their roles.
- Set goals for both experienced and new Account Managers, providing coaching and support to achieve these goals.
Team Management and Development
- Manage showroom and sales staff through one-on-one meetings, team meetings, side-by-side coaching, and performance evaluations.
- Develop and oversee reward and recognition programs to motivate and acknowledge staff achievements.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or GED required. 3-5 years of related management experience in business-to-business sales is preferred.
- Language Skills: Ability to write business correspondence and effectively present information to customers.
- Mathematical Skills: Ability to read and interpret Profit and Loss (P&L) statements and calculate figures such as discounts, interest, commissions, and percentages.
- Computer Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, email, and the ability to learn and utilize the POS system.
