Summary
The Director of Two and Over is a newly created leadership role responsible for the day-to-day operations, curriculum quality, and staff supervision of all classrooms serving children ages two through school age. This position works in partnership with the Director of Infant & Toddler and reports directly to the Executive Director.
Duties
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide direct oversight and mentorship to lead and assistant teachers in the 2-and-over classrooms
- Ensure curriculum planning aligns with developmentally appropriate practices and Doorway to Learning's program philosophy
- Conduct regular classroom observations and provide meaningful, growth-oriented feedback to teaching staff
- Manage scheduling, coverage, and staffing for assigned classrooms
- Partner with families through proactive communication, conferences, and conflict resolution
- Monitor compliance with Wisconsin DCF childcare licensing requirements
- Support enrollment processes, including family tours and transitions
- Collaborate with the Executive Director and board on program development, staff evaluations, and policy updates
- Contribute to a positive, inclusive, and trauma-informed center culture
Requirements
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field
- Minimum 3 years of experience working with children ages 2–5 in a licensed childcare or preschool setting
- Minimum 1 year of supervisory or lead teacher experience
- Current CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain within 30 days of hire)
- Strong working knowledge of Wisconsin DCF childcare licensing standards
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to pass a Wisconsin Caregiver Background Check
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in ECE, Education, long term experience in child care also accepted
- Experience in program development, CLASS observation, or Youngster
- Familiarity with childcare management software (Procare, Brightwheel, or similar)
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus

Salary : $52,000 to $54,000/Yr
