Croft Christian Academy is seeking dependable and flexible Substitute Teachers to support our classrooms serving children ages 6 weeks to 5 years old. Substitute Teachers are responsible for maintaining a safe, engaging, and Christ-centered environment while stepping into classrooms as needed. Daily responsibilities include supporting classroom routines, implementing lesson plans, fostering creativity, and ensuring the overall well-being of each child.

Key Responsibilities
Must be at least 18 years old
High School Diploma or GED (ECD 101 completed or in progress preferred)
Ability to pass a full background check, including FBI/SLED fingerprinting and Central Registry clearance
Completed and current Health Assessment (including TB test) required
Ability to meet all DSS licensing requirements for childcare staff
Reliable transportation and consistent attendance
Flexible availability (as-needed scheduling between 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM)
Ability to quickly adapt to different teaching situations and age groups
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Passion for working with children ages 6 weeks to 5 years
Dependable, punctual, and team-oriented
Calm under pressure with the ability to think quickly
Prior childcare or classroom experience preferred
Background in Christian education or ministry is a plus
Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. for child safety and emergencies
Experience working in a licensed childcare center or preschool
Coursework in Early Childhood Education (ECD 101, CDA, or related field)
Current CPR and First Aid certification
Experience working with multiple age groups (infants through preschool)
Familiarity with classroom management or behavior guidance strategies (ex: Conscious Discipline)
Bilingual (especially Spanish)
Experience with lesson plan implementation or early childhood curriculum
Comfortable using communication tools or apps (ex: Brightwheel)
