JOB ANNOUNCEMENT: Family Service Advocate/Bus Driver
JOB CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt, Full-time, 10+ months
RATE OF PAY: Two Classrooms $15.58 hr.
NUMBER OF HOURS PER WEEK: Avg. 44 weeks, 40 hours per week, 10 months
LOCATION: Currently Assigned to Richlands Head Start Center
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: The Family Services Advocate is responsible for building and engaging strong, nurturing relationships with the families of enrolled children to identify barriers to self-sufficiency. Using the Family Partnership Agreement, the Family Services Advocate assists families set goals to ensure independence from public assistance. The Family Services Advocate facilitates the use of resources and serves as a source of support. This position requires regular attendance and punctuality as an essential part of the job function. The Family Services Advocate is responsible for recruiting children to the program. This position requires having to get a Commercial Driver’s License and driving the bus.

EDUCATION: Must have, at a minimum, a credential or certification in social work, human services, family services, counseling or a related field;
PRIOR TO HIRE: Must submit to fingerprint check, Sex Offender check, complete a Sworn Disclosure, and reference checks;
ADDITIONAL CERTIFICATIONS: Must possess or secure First Aid/CPR Certification; Must get CDL within six months of hire;
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Must get TB screening or PPD, Physical, CPS, DMV, and must be proficient in English;
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to lift and carry a minimum number of 50 pounds. This position requires bending, lifting, walking, talking, seeing, sitting, running, speaking, and hearing;
PREFERENCES: (Current and former Head Start parent, active Agency volunteers, current work experience participants, interns);
