Early Childhood - FT/PT Short-Term Substitute Assistant Teacher(s)

Summary

CCDC has 3 short-term Assistant Teacher positions open with opportunities to become permanent. The Assistant Teacher is a vital part of the teaching team with helping to create a caring, safe and fun-filled environment for the children. The Assistant Teacher assists with the development of learning to improve the overall care and quality of education. S/he must be able to communicate, listen, and work well with others in a team environment, while developing positive relationships with the children, families, and coworkers. The Assistant Teachers are responsible for helping to implement developmentally appropriate activities based on children's interests and needs under the direction of the Teacher.

Duties

• Assist with the day-to-day routines of children 8 weeks old to 5 years old.
• Assist in the implementation of curricula activities and promote healthy development by modelling and engaging with the children.
• Actively engage in activities; manage cleanliness, maintenance, and availability of classroom materials.
• Encourage self-help and good hygiene through behavior modeling.
• Help ensure smooth, daily transitions from home to childcare center.
• Follow all center policies and state regulations.

Requirements

• Minimum of 1-2 years of professional childcare experience in an early childhood environment.
• CDA or Associate's degree preferred
• High energy.
• Ability to work well with others/ team focused.
• Strong oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills.
• An understanding of child development.
• Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Strong desire to continually learn
• Must clear full fingerprint/background check and must pass health screening.
