Summary
Calvary Chapel Christian Academy is seeking a strong, faith-aligned Pre-K4 Lead Teacher to serve as the instructional and classroom leader for our Pre-K4 classroom. This role is responsible for creating a structured, nurturing, and Christ-centered classroom environment that promotes school readiness, positive behavior, student growth, and strong family partnership. The Pre-K4 Lead Teacher is expected to plan and deliver developmentally appropriate instruction that prepares students academically, socially, emotionally, and spiritually for continued success in the academy setting.

Duties
- Serve as the lead instructional adult and primary classroom leader for the Pre-K4 classroom.
- Plan and deliver high-quality, developmentally appropriate instruction aligned with Abeka, Bob Jones, and applicable Virginia Standards of Learning expectations.
- Develop weekly lesson plans and maintain organized instructional planning documents for review and submission as required.
- Create and maintain a structured, orderly, and nurturing classroom environment that supports learning, safety, positive behavior, and kindergarten readiness.
- Lead daily classroom routines, transitions, instructional periods, center time, meals, rest periods, and enrichment activities in an organized and developmentally appropriate manner.
- Monitor student understanding throughout instruction and adjust pacing, supports, or strategies when reinforcement is needed.
- Support foundational academic growth in early literacy, language development, numeracy, fine motor development, critical thinking, and classroom participation.
- Integrate Christian values, prayer, scripture, and Christ-centered character formation into daily classroom life in age-appropriate ways.
- Track and monitor student progress using IXL, iReady, assessments, observations, and other academy-approved tools to support instructional planning and student growth.
- Maintain updated records related to student progress, behavior concerns, classroom communications, and required documentation.
- Communicate professionally and consistently with families regarding student progress, classroom expectations, and concerns.
- Provide daily guidance, mentoring, and supervision to assistant teachers assigned to the classroom to ensure consistency, professionalism, safety, and instructional alignment.
- Attend and actively participate in instructional coaching sessions, professional development, and Professional Learning Communities (PLCs).
- Maintain current substitute plans and follow academy protocols for attendance, call-ins, and continuity of instruction when absences occur.
- Model servant leadership, professionalism, and Christ-like conduct in all interactions with students, families, coworkers, and leadership.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in education or a related field preferred; candidates with relevant teaching experience and demonstrated instructional ability will also be considered.
- Experience teaching young children in a classroom setting preferred.
- Ability to plan and deliver strong Pre-K4 instruction that supports kindergarten readiness and student development.
- Strong classroom management, organization, communication, and instructional planning skills.
- Ability to supervise students actively and maintain a safe, structured, and engaging classroom environment.
- Ability to mentor and direct assistant teachers within the classroom.
- Ability to use curriculum, assessment data, and student progress tracking to support learning outcomes.
- Ability to maintain lesson plans, student records, and classroom documentation consistently.
- Ability to support and uphold the Christian mission of Calvary Chapel Christian Academy and contribute to a Christ-centered environment.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, lift classroom materials, supervise students indoors and outdoors, and remain active throughout the workday.
