Summary
Calvary Chapel Christian Academy is seeking a caring, dependable, flexible, and high-engagement Developmental Center Floater to provide classroom support across multiple age groups within our Developmental Center. This role is essential to helping classrooms remain properly staffed, supervised, structured, and supported throughout the school day.
The Developmental Center Floater assists lead teachers and assistant teachers in maintaining safe, nurturing, developmentally appropriate, and Christ-centered classroom environments for children ranging from infants through preschool-aged students. This is a hands-on role for someone who genuinely loves children, adapts quickly, works well on a team, and is willing to step in wherever support is needed.

Duties
- Provide flexible classroom support across the Developmental Center based on staffing and operational needs.
- Support multiple age groups, including infants, toddlers, and preschool-aged children, as assigned.
- Maintain active supervision of children at all times and help ensure classrooms remain safe, calm, and properly staffed.
- Assist lead teachers and assistant teachers with daily classroom routines, transitions, and structured activities.
- Help maintain proper child-to-teacher ratios and provide additional support during busy classroom periods.
- Assist with feeding routines, diapering support, nap supervision, classroom clean-up, meal and snack times, and other daily care responsibilities as assigned.
- Follow all classroom procedures consistently, including health, safety, supervision, sanitation, and daily care expectations.
- Support developmentally appropriate learning experiences by engaging children through conversation, play, guided interaction, and teacher-directed activities.
- Help maintain classroom cleanliness, organization, and inspection-readiness by sanitizing materials, supporting setup and cleanup, and keeping play and learning spaces orderly.
- Adjust quickly to different classroom environments, age groups, routines, and teacher expectations throughout the day.
- Demonstrate teamwork, flexibility, professionalism, and a positive attitude while supporting staff across the Developmental Center.
- Greet families professionally, maintain confidentiality, and communicate respectfully with coworkers and leadership.
- Model Christ-like character, servant leadership, professionalism, and genuine care in all interactions with children, families, coworkers, and leadership.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience working with young children in a childcare or educational setting preferred.
- Genuine love for children, with patience, attentiveness, warmth, and care in daily interactions.
- Flexibility and willingness to work with different age groups and classrooms as needed.
- Strong attentiveness and the ability to remain actively engaged with children throughout the workday.
- Ability to follow classroom procedures, health and safety expectations, sanitation practices, and academy policies consistently.
- Comfort with hands-on classroom care responsibilities, including feeding support, diapering support, nap supervision, and daily routines as assigned.
- Reliability, commitment, and a strong work ethic, including consistent attendance and punctuality.
- Ability to arrive on time, prepared, and ready to actively support classroom operations.
- Positive attitude, professionalism, emotional maturity, and a team-oriented approach to classroom responsibilities.
- Coachability and willingness to receive direction and feedback well.
