We are seeking a Daycare Driver to join our team! You will assist in the development and supervision of children.
Transportation
Brighter Beginnings Preschool and Learning Center LLC does annual vehicle safety inspections on each van as well as annual reports pulled for each driver. All vans have been installed with a child safety alarm and the alarms will remain on during the use of vans to transport children. The driver will go through the van to ensure no child is left behind and turn off the alarm. We will also check under all seats.
An emergency kit is placed on each van that consists of the following: First aid Kit, wipes, thermometer, hand sanitizer, Kleenex, Flashlight, and a blanket.
The van driver will do daily maintenance checks of the vehicles which consist of:

The following are rules and guidelines that all children must follow when transportation is provided.

Emergency Procedures:
Each member of staff shall adjust emergency procedures to be followed by providers if confronted with an emergency when on the road.
Each member of staff shall ensure that the child(ren) who are on board receive instruction, at least once each semester, about practices and procedures to follow if an emergency occurs while being transported.
Evacuation Procedures for Activities and Field Trips
In order to ensure the safety of the children in an actual emergency, every staff member assigned to transport children on activities or field trips should assign an evacuation team prior to each trip. The team will consist of teachers, cooks, director, or parents. Remember all children need to be trained in case of an emergency.
Each staff member should consist of at least the following:
A staff member will be assigned to set the parking brake, turn off the engine, turn on the hazard warning lights and report the incident to the police department in case the driver is unable to do so.
A staff member will be assigned to lead children to a safe location at least 100 feet from the minivans and will take the first aid kit with them.
A staff member will be assigned to stand outside the vans, next to the front door to help children exit the van.
If needed a staff assigned to the rear of the van will help children exit out of the vans.

Driver
Must be 21 years or older and have a high school diploma and/or equivalent. The driver must hold certification in CPR AED and First Aid.
The driver must be flexible during center hours depending on pick up and drop off times of the children. The driver must maintain an excellent driving record and be insurable and well as maintain a copy of their driving record from the DMV.
