Summary
The After School Care Teacher is responsible for providing a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for children during after-school hours. This role includes supervising students, assisting with homework, organizing activities, and supporting children’s social and emotional development.
Duties
- Supervise and ensure the safety of children at all times
- Assist students with homework and academic support
- Plan and lead age-appropriate activities (arts & crafts, games, outdoor play, enrichment)
- Maintain a structured daily routine
- Promote positive behavior and classroom management
- Communicate effectively with parents and staff regarding student progress and behavior
- Ensure a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom environment
- Follow all licensing, health, and safety regulations
- Provide snacks/meals according to program guidelines
Requirements
High school diploma or GED required (CDA or higher preferred)
Previous childcare or teaching experience preferred
CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to manage a group of children in a structured setting
Passion for working with children
Work Schedule:
- Monday – Friday
- Typically between 2:00 PM – 7:00 PM (may vary depending on program hours)
- Extended Overnight hours: 6:00PM - 12:00AM
