Position Summary:

The Late Night Childcare Teacher is responsible for providing a safe, calm, and nurturing environment for children during evening hours. This role focuses on supervising children, supporting evening routines, assisting with homework, and preparing children for rest or pickup.

Duties

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise children and ensure safety at all times during evening hours
• Assist with homework, quiet study time, or educational activities
• Lead calm, age-appropriate activities (reading, puzzles, movies, quiet play)
• Support evening routines including dinner/snack time, hygiene, and wind-down activities
• Maintain a peaceful and structured environment suitable for late hours
• Monitor behavior and guide children using positive discipline techniques
• Communicate with parents at pickup regarding child’s evening
• Ensure all children are signed in/out properly and released to authorized individuals only
• Light cleaning and organization of classroom before closing
• Follow all licensing, health, and safety guidelines

Requirements

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required (CDA or early childhood coursework preferred)
• Previous childcare experience required (evening or overnight experience a plus)
• CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Strong supervision and classroom management skills
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work evening hours consistently
