Preschool Assistant in Brooklyn, NY

Summary

We are a group family daycare in Prospect Lefferts Gardens that offers a quality preschool experience to a mixed-age group of children ages 2 years to 4 years old. We are seeking a warm, reliable Assistant who brings both care and positive energy to their work. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a small, collaborative environment dedicated to creating a safe, joyful, and enriching environment where children learn, grow, and thrive.

Schedule:

Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–5 PM

Duties

In collaboration with Our Team you will:

• Support daily classroom activities and routines
• Help create a safe, clean, and engaging environment for children
• Supervise children during play, meals, and rest time
• Assist with implementing age-appropriate learning activities
• Foster positive relationships with children and families
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the daycare space
• Assist with recordkeeping and documentation, including attendance & incident reports
• Ensure documentation is accurate, organized, and up to date in accordance with NYC regulations

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years experience working with young children
• Successfully complete a comprehensive background check with NYC Department of Health
• Provide three references- 2 professional (from working with young children) and 1 personal
• Complete 15 hours of health and safety training from the ECETP website before start date
• Authorized to work in the US
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Physically able to lift up to 30 lbs, bend, crouch, kneel, sit on floor, run

Nice To Haves

• Child Development Associate Credential (CDA) or ECE college credits
• Pediatric First Aid/CPR certificate
• Able to conduct circle time
• Lesson planning experience
• Knowledge of Teaching Strategies/SmartTeach
• Like being outdoors with children
