Early Childhood - Assistant Teacher 5 year olds

Summary

Duties

• Assists in the planning, preparing, and implementation of lessons
• Actively engages in activities; manage cleanliness, order, and availability of classroom materials.
• Maintains a positive attitude with children, families, and co workers
• Models appropriate behavior
• Help ensure smooth, daily transitions
• Follow all center policies and state regulations.
• Maintain personal professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement.

Requirements

• AA, BS, or MA in Child Development, Early Childhood Education, or Elementary Ed or related field
• Professional teaching experience of at least 2 years in a private or public preschool or elementary school pre K or kindergarten class
• Ability to work well with others.
• Strong oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills.
• A strong understanding of child development.
• Plan and be prepared for daily and weekly lesson plans
• Complete all Tennessee Department of Human Services requirements for childcare providers

Nice To Haves

3+ years teaching experience in a preschool or elementary school

Benefits

• Contract Work hours are 8:30-2:00 Monday-Friday; however, outside contract hours are needed for planning and preparing lessons.

  Preschool hours for children are 9-1:30.

  Calendar closely follows local public school annual calendar (164 instructional days, 10 in-service, 28 holidays for a total of 202 days of employment agreement)
