In this job you will


  • Manage all aspects related to the customers at the Service Center, The New Wheel's central service location in San Francisco
  • Sell bicycle components and accessories
  • Maintain an organized workspace
  • Support the service team

Duties

  • Service bike intake
  • Sales of accessories and service plans
  • Retail space upkeep and Organization
  • Quality control of service bikes
  • Manage and close cash register
  • Shop maintenance and service bike organization
  • Welcome service customers to The New Wheel Space
  • Check out service customers
  • Take payments
  • Answer phone
  • Answer emails
  • Contact customer about parts ready for pick up
  • Review service deadline
  • Serve Tea/Water/Coffee to customers
  • Tidy and organize bikes in the warehouse
  • Refresh accessory wall display
  • Assist the service team by performing basic service related tasks
  • Routinely lift and organize items with weights of 75 lbs
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Experience riding bicycles
  • Experience with simple repairs on bikes
  • Ability to safely lift 75 lbs 
  • Should have a strong aptitude for learning a new computer system, Aace, our ERP
  • Consistently and accurately follow work-flows
  • Should demonstrate adeptness to communicate clearly and empathetically with customers
  • Should communicate in a manner that fellow team members would consider "proactive" (for example, when answering a survey)
  • Should demonstrate punctuality and a strong ability to manage time
  • Should demonstrate a strong ability to independently manage a task list and follow through on projects
  • Should demonstrate an eagerness to efficiently solve problems and learn
  • Should demonstrate curiosity, enthusiasm and adaptability while participating in the operations of The New Wheel, an evolving small business
  • Ability to periodically lift 75 pounds
