The Role

As the Lead Teacher, you will be the heart of our classroom, designing a nurturing environment where children learn through exploration, social interaction, and hands-on discovery. You will lead a small teaching team to ensure a safe, stimulating, and developmentally appropriate experience for every child.

Duties

Key Responsibilities:

• Play-Based Curriculum: Design and implement engaging, child-centered activities that promote social, emotional, cognitive, and physical growth.
• Classroom Leadership: Model positive, respectful interactions and supervise assistant teachers or support staff.
• Family Partnership: Maintain open, professional communication with families through daily updates and scheduled conferences.
• Observation & Assessment: Monitor children’s developmental progress using tools like to individualize learning plans.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure the program consistently meets Vermont Child Care Licensing Regulations for health, safety, and quality.

Requirements

Must be 21 years or older and have 21+ college credits in early childhood education or related field or hold a CDA credential.
