Summary
As an Early Childhood Education Substitute Teacher, you are the vital link that ensures our educational journey never misses a beat. This role is about more than temporary coverage; it’s about maintaining a continuous, effective learning environment where student safety and well-being remain the top priority. You will step into the heart of our classrooms to uphold school policies and foster a productive atmosphere that keeps our students inspired, even when their regular teacher is away.
Duties
- Instructional Continuity: Implement pre-planned, hands-on lesson plans and instructional materials to deliver engaging education across various subjects.
- Creating a Sanctuary: Maintain a safe, orderly, and respectful classroom "home" that enforces school rules and behavioral expectations consistently and fairly.
- Active Supervision: Ensure the highest standards of safety by supervising students during instructional times, transitions, lunch, and outdoor activities.
- Communication Excellence: Leave a clear, concise summary for the regular teacher regarding the day’s activities and student progress while reporting any immediate concerns to administration.
- Professional Integrity: Adhere to all academy policies and ethical guidelines, maintaining strict confidentiality of student information and school records.

Requirements
- Professional Competencies: Proactive self-starter who demonstrates a continuous growth mindset and a commitment to process improvement.
- Educational Background: Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED required (Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Education preferred.
- Communication: Exceptional interpersonal skills to build relationships with students, staff, and administration.
- Heart & Soul: Patience, flexibility, and a genuine passion for guiding children through creative and academic challenges.
- Essentials: Must pass all required background clearances and fingerprinting as required by South Carolina state law and academy policy.
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience working with children or in an educational setting is highly desirable; knowledge of STEAM or Montessori frameworks is a plus.
