Summary
As the Infant Room Lead Teacher, you will be responsible for providing a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for infants aged 8 weeks to 18 months. You are the architect of a child's first educational experiences. This unique role is where nurturing care meets foundational development. You will focus on creating a safe, stimulating sanctuary that fosters social-emotional growth and curiosity during our extended day program.
Duties
- Curriculum & Discovery: Plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities that align with the academy’s philosophy to spark early curiosity.
- Nurturing Environment: Create a warm, inclusive, and "home-away-from-home" classroom space that promotes exploration and independence.
- Safety & Guidance: Supervise our youngest learners with vigilance, ensuring their well-being while using positive guidance techniques to manage routines.
- Developmental Documentation: Observe and track "lightbulb moments" in child development, identifying individual strengths and areas for growth.
- Collaborative Communication: Maintain professional and heart-centered communication with parents and colleagues to ensure a cohesive experience.
- Resource Management: Organize and maintain a clean, stimulating learning space filled with age-appropriate materials and equipment.
Requirements
- Professional Competencies: Proactive self-starter who demonstrates a continuous growth mindset and a commitment to process improvement.
- Educational Background: Currently hold an Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field (Bachelor’s degree preferred).
- Experience: Proven experience nurturing and guiding young children in a professional educational setting.
- Passion: A genuine love for working with infants/young children and a passion for engaging them in developmental challenges.
- Skills: Strong classroom management skills and a deep understanding of child development principles.
- Essentials: First Aid/CPR certification and the ability to pass all required background clearances.
Schedule:
- Shift: Consistent coverage for our 1st shift (between 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM).
- Availability: Full-time or Part-time options available based on academy requirements; may include occasional academy events outside of regular hours.
Nice To Haves
- Foundational knowledge of Montessori or STEAM educational frameworks, with a proven ability to adapt and excel in specialized learning environments is strongly preferred.
