Transportation Driver for Child Care Center - St. Johnsbury, VT

Summary

The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely transporting children ages 6 weeks - 11 years of age to and from the Child Care Center, as well as occasional field trips or special activities. This part time role supports the daily operations of the center by ensuring reliable, punctual and secure transportation services while maintaining a caring and professional demeaner with children, families and staff. Must be 25 years or older.

Duties

1.     Communicate drop off and pick up times and locations with families and staff.
2.       Create and keep updated log of pick up and drop off times
3.       Deliver paperwork to care givers provided by child care (newsletters, accident reports, etc.)
4. Maintain a clean, organized, and properly fueled van that is supplied by ABC & LOL LLC.
5.       Ensure proper child supervision and adherence to safety procedures during loading and unloading.
6.       Communicate any delays or closing with parents via transportation phone
7.       Ensure proper staffing to keep vehicle in licensing regulations at all times
8.       Ensure all children have appropriate child restraint seats and secured properly   
9.     Report any vehicle maintenance issues or safety concerns promptly
10. Follow all local, state and federal transportation laws and childcare transportation regulations.

Requirements

Must be 25 years or older and have a clean driving record, the ability to pass a background and fingerprint check, and willing to complete required trainings.

Valid Driver's License

Hold current CPR & First Aid Certification

Vt Car seat and Transportation Training

Mandated Reporter training

HIPPA regulations

Experience driving children or working in a childcare setting is preferred.
