Infant Assistant Teacher

Summary

Duties

• Assist in the planning and implementation of age-appropriate activities that support the physical, emotional, and intellectual growth of infants.
• Support the Lead Teacher in maintaining a clean, safe, and organized classroom environment.
• Supervise and engage infants during playtime, and activities.
• Help create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment where infants can explore, learn, and grow.
• Follow all the center policies, procedures, and health and safety regulations.
• Communicate effectively with parents and caregivers regarding children’s needs and progress.
• Collaborate with the teaching team to ensure a positive and inclusive learning environment.
• Assist with diapering, feedings, and other personal care needs as needed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (required); fundamentals or a 3-credit college course or being willing to complete within 1 year of hire.
• Experience working with infants in a childcare or early education setting is preferred but will train the right person.
• Knowledge of infant development and age-appropriate care practices.
• Patience, empathy, and a genuine love for working with infants.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to maintain a safe and nurturing environment.
• Current CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
• Complete VT Orientation upon hire
• Mandated Reporting upon hire
• Civil Rights training upon hire
• Background check and fingerprint clearance (required).
