Summary

Champion Christian Learning Academy is a childcare that provides care for children ages 6 weeks to 5 years old. CCLA's engaging curriculum focuses on Music and Movement; Pre-Literacy and Language; Creative and Expressive Art and Fine Motor; Preschool STEM; and Beginning Sports and Gross Motor. The Assistant Teacher position at CCLA helps to create a caring and safe environment for the children and assisting in activities to improve the overall care and quality of education. S/he must be able to communicate, listen and work well with others in a team environment. Assisting the staff in implementing a quality educational program and in developing positive relationships with the children and their parents, the assistant teacher observes and documents children’s interest and progress, and relays that information back to parents and staff. Assistant teachers are responsible for implementing developmentally appropriate activities based on children’s interests and needs under the direction of the Teacher and the Director.

Duties



  • Cooperative and Flexible with assisting the lead teacher
  • Maintain a safe and organized classroom environment for children
  • Teachable and Coachable
  •  Ensure that the classroom is attractive so that students enjoy their surroundings while learning lessons
  •  Provide support to the teacher in planning lessons and daily activities based on the principles of child development
  •  Well Groomed
  •  Positive, Calm, and engaging with the children and teacher
  • Help with keeping classroom clean at mealtime bathroom time and throughout the day 
  • Assist with meals and support during mealtime
  •  Punctual and dependable
  • Creative in working with children

Requirements

All positions require background checks, fingerprinting, and a physical for clearance to work.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of 1 year of professional child care experience (preferred).
  • A strong understanding of child development.
  • Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
