Dorman Preschool Center is a 501c3 nonprofit organization who has been serving children with all abilities for 60 years. We are a nature and play based early development center who is looking for an enthusiastic person to join our team and fall just as in love with our mission and philosophy as we are! The majority of our day is spent in our natural outdoor classroom as long as weather permits. We are seeking an assistant preschool teacher for our 3-4 year olds classroom. This position is full time(40 Hours a week, 8 Hours a day) Monday through Friday. -Assist the lead teacher with classroom management, lessons plans, and classroom environment
-Assist in diaper changes and potty training
-Being an observant and engaged educator
-Daily cleaning of classroom and general house keeping
-Assisting in other classrooms as needed
-Working in a community amongst all classes
-Attend occasional mandatory trainings
-Supervise the children you are with
-Assist during meal times
-Helping children problem solve and conflict resolution
-Teaching children how to effectively express emotion in a positive way
-Highschool diploma or equivalent
-Must be able to pass a background check
-Reliable transportation
-Open to learning about emergent curriculum
-Experience working with young children (preferred)
-Ability to work well with others
-Able to lift up to 50 pounds
-Able to attend required trainings
-Great communication skills
-Compliance with licensing requirement for TB testing
-Willing to fulfil their responsibilities in accordance with the center's philosophy and mission
-Willing to work with children of all needs
-Eager to be a lifelong learner and a team player
-Must be able to spend time outdoors
-CDA
-CPR and first aid certified
-Experience working with children with all abilities
-Classroom Experience
-Familiar with Kentucky child care regulations
