Are you a seasoned early childhood professional with the qualifications to be a Director, but looking for the right opportunity to grow into the role? We’re seeking a dedicated Assistant Director who is ready to step into leadership and grow with our program. This role is ideal for someone with the experience and credentials to be a Program Director, but who is open to starting as an Assistant Director with a clear path to promotion.

Duties

  • Assist the current Director in overseeing the center's overall operational management, including curriculum development, staff and facilities management, legal and budgetary considerations, and long-range planning.
  • Implement industry best practices within the program.
  • Lead the staff to accomplish the organization's goals and foster improvement opportunities.
  • Cultivate an effective teaching team and promote a positive organizational culture.
  • Lead staff career development, recruitment, and retention strategies.
  • Manage office functions, including payroll, accounts, human resources, and purchasing.
  • Ensure compliance with local and state regulations while maintaining accurate records.

Requirements

  • Minimum age of 21.
  • At least 2 years of programmatic experience.
  • CDA or Bachelor’s Degree in early childhood education or related field with a minimum of 30 credits in ECE.
  • A minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Successful completion of a full background check.
  • Provide at least three professional references.

Nice To Haves

  • Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Current Medication Administration Training.
  • 5 years of direct professional experience in an early childhood setting.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, as well as technology proficiency.
  • Solid understanding of child development.
  • Financial and budgeting skills.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal abilities.
