Assistant Pre-K (4's) Teacher - Full Time

Summary

We are looking for a full-time preschool assistant teacher in our 4-yr-old program!

Duties

Responsibilities

Assists the teachers as directed.

Performs such tasks as assigned and instructed by the teachers.

• Supervises play activities
• Sets up free art tables and helps prepare art for the day
• Sets up workshop centers with age-appropriate toys and activities
• Sets up the classroom, when necessary
• Prepares and implements bulletin board displays
• Sets up art projects and prepares necessary materials

Takes over the classroom when a teacher is needed in another area.

Be flexible if needed in another area to help with classes.

Cleans up areas after workshop and snacks.

Assists with meals and snacks.

Attends planning sessions as needed.

Communicates with lead teacher on lesson plans.

Attends special programs planned by the instructional staff.

Gives suggestions to the lead teacher for approval.

In the absence of a teacher, assumes that role, provided that the assistant position is filled with a sub.

Assists in potty training duties as needed.

Requirements

Qualifications

The candidates for these positions must be at least 18 years old. Preference will be given to those certified in Early Childhood Education and those with previous preschool teaching experience.
