Early Childhood - Assistant/Associate/Lead Teacher (FT or PT) ECE

Summary

The Teacher position helps to create a caring and safe environment for the children in the program. The teacher is responsible for creating and implementing developmentally appropriate activities based on children’s interests and needs and s/he must be able to communicate, listen, and work well with others in a team environment. The Teacher should be able to remain positive and create a trusting relationship with both children and families. The Teacher should be able to observe and document the children's development and any concerns, and relay that in an appropriate way to families. Teachers are responsible for mentoring and guiding other teachers in the center. Teachers report directly to the center director.

Duties

• Actively engage in activities; manage cleanliness, maintenance, and availability of classroom materials.
• Maintain frequent communications with parents through informal discussions and ProCare App updates.
• Maintain a calm and confident demeanor with infants and parents.
• Help ensure smooth, daily transition from home to childcare center and vice versa.
• Follow all center policies and state regulations.
• Maintain personal professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement.

Requirements

• Self-Motivated to finish tasks and play with the children.
• Ability to work well with others.
• Strong oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills.
• An understanding of child development.
• Willingness to follow directions and examples, as needed.
• Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification required within the first 90 days of hire. (We will help you find a course, if needed).
• Must clear full background check and must pass health screening.

Nice To Haves

• 1-2 years of experience with children.
• Full availability, Monday-Friday between 7AM-5:30PM.
• Growth & Development of the Young Child or equivalent.
• At least 12 ECE credits or a current CDA
• Background Eligibility Card (Current for NH).
