Summary
We are currently seeking a teacher to join our team. Applicants must be team player who is caring. loves teaching children, energetic, patient, and nurturing.
Duties
Arrive promptly at the scheduled time and remain at school until the shift ends or until all children are picked up or staff meetings are complete.
Create and implement age-appropriate lesson plans in a timely manner.
Plan a variety of age-appropriate activities that are curriculum based and that cover a wide range of developmental skills. Change classroom materials frequently.
Attend quarterly staff meetings as announced by the Preschool Director.
Communicate with parents on an ongoing basis through notes, monthly calendars, newsletters, and calls (when necessary). Offer two parent conferences during the year and be available to meet with parents at other times as needed.
Conduct ongoing evaluations of each child using checklists, anecdotal records, and work samples. Records of each child’s progress are confidential and should be kept in a locked closet/file.
Work cooperatively with a teaching assistant to ensure that the classroom runs smoothly and follows a consistent daily schedule.
Attend continuing education training each year at the discretion of the Preschool Director. Maintain updated certification in First Aid, CPR, and Safety Training.
Represent Ebenezer United Methodist Preschool with a positive attitude.
Respect the confidentiality of parents, students, and staff of Ebenezer.
Work with the Preschool Director to prepare children for special programs.
Requirements
*All lead teachers must have a minimum of CDA or higher.
*A teacher of one-year-olds must have experience with children and/or training in areas related to child development.
*MUST pass a criminal background check
*Must be able to work from 8:30 am-5:30 pm or 6:30 am - 3:30 pm
