Summary

We are seeking an enthusiastic Pre-K Lead teacher to guide a classroom of young children in a variety of educational activities, including arts and crafts, free play, storytelling, and class outings. Your prime responsibility is to teach them the fundamental concepts they need to know for kindergarten, such as identifying numbers and letters, socializing well with others, and working effectively in a classroom structure.


Patience, compassion, and energy are all vital qualities of a successful pre-K teacher. You should be capable of inspiring, encouraging, and developing young children, each of whom will have different abilities, challenges, and personalities. The top candidates will also have a creative mindset and good administrative skills in order to plan and execute lessons that are memorable and innovative and achieve the desired learning outcomes

Duties

  • Teaching children about core concepts, such as numbers, letters, shapes, and colors, using the BFTS GELDS Standards.
  • Using creative, hands-on methods of learning, such as artistic expression, free play, and storytelling.
  • Planning a curriculum and Lesson Plans that address the early childhood education requirements for GA. PreK.
  • Encouraging and monitoring social interactions between children.
  • Instilling a sense of respect and discipline so that children work effectively in a classroom setting.
  • Supervising children outside of class time, such as during lunch, playground, or field trips.
  • Making sure that the classroom is clean, safe, and well-organized, and effective classroom management skills.
  • Setting up the materials and workspaces required for class activities.
  • Communicating with parents to learn more about each child's life outside the classroom.
  • Creating reports in WSO to inform parents about their children's progress at school.

Requirements

ECE or ECE-Related Bachelor’s Degree - Four Year Degree or Higher Credential (Masters, Specialist’s, etc.).

OR

T4 (Georgia teaching certificate issued by the GaPSC) Four Year Degree & Teaching Certificate Level 4, Certificate Type: Standard Professional (SR, MSR), Performance Based Professional (PR), Non-Renewable Professional (N, N1, N3), Life Certificate (D), Provisional Certificate (BT), Induction Certificates (I1, I3, I5), Military Provisional Certificates (MB1, MB2, MB3), Supplemental Induction (SIT, MSI), Waiver (W), International Exchange (X). T5 (Georgia teaching certificate issued by GaPSC) Master’s Degree & Teaching Certificate Level 5, Certificate.

OR

Bachelor’s Degree not related to Early Childhood Education A teacher with a bachelor’s degree not related to Early Childhood Education must also hold one of the following approved ECE credentials: • Associate degree with ECE major • Technical College Diploma (TCD) with ECE major • Technical Certificate of Credit (TCC) with ECE major (The Early Childhood Care and Education Program Administration TCC program is designed to prepare students for a job as manager of a Childcare Learning Center and will not meet the TCC requirement.) • Montessori Diploma (Montessori courses must be taken from an accredited affiliate of the Montessori Accreditation Council for Teacher Education [MACTE]) • Valid Preschool Child Development Associate (CDA) credential issued by the Council for Professional Recognition. Note: The following CDA credentials will not meet the CDA requirement for a lead teacher: Infant/Toddler CDA, Family Child Care CDA, Home Visitors CDA, and Military School-Age CDA. Teachers with an expired CDA or in the process of renewing an expired CDA will not meet the CDA requirement.
