Heart of Brooklyn Kool Kidz located at Brooklyn Elementary School is looking to fill two positions that begin June 12th and runs through August 25th. The hours for the first position are 11:30am-5:00pm and the second position 8:00am-5:00pm. Monday-Friday.
The Assistant teacher will help the lead teacher manage the day-to-day operational activities of the program.
Assistant Teacher: Must have completed a minimum of 1 course for credit or non-credit in early childhood education, or completed the
Assistant Teacher training within 6 months after assuming this position. The coursework if needed, will be provided and you will be paid for completing it during your first week of work.
Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification. Will pay for, if needed
Ensure all center policies and state regulations are met.
Must be at least 17 years of age.
Good oral and written communication skills.
High energy and the ability to work well with others (staff, children, and parents) and to foster a team environment.
The ability to take frequent walks, use hands and fingers, handle objects, tools or controls, talk to and hear voices at many levels. May also be required to kneel, bend, squat.
Good organizational, and interpersonal skills
Other critical competencies include, patience, creativity, problem-solving skills, enthusiasm and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Ensure a healthy classroom environment - including maintaining appropriate hygiene and cleanliness standards and safety and security of children.
