Summary
Woodmont Baptist Weekday Preschool ("WBWP") seeks an energetic, nurturing, and positive person to be a classroom teacher in our preschool. WBWP serves children from four months through 5 years of age and partners with families to provide developmentally appropriate preschool education in a respectful, creative, nurturing Christian environment. Our teachers are responsible for fostering a warm and accepting atmosphere while valuing and promoting play.
Duties
- Coordinate and implement educational curriculum by developing classroom activities based on developmentally appropriate practices and early learning standards
- Carry out activities on a daily basis, evaluate the effectiveness of child development activities.
- Plan individual and group age-appropriate activities to actively engage children and encourage social, cognitive and emotional health
- Maintain frequent communications with parents through informal discussions and parent-teacher conferences
- Ensure all center policies and state regulations are met
- Contribute to the effective operation of the overall childcare center program
- Foster self-worth in children by treating them with dignity and respect.
- Maintain confidentiality of information relating to children, families and staff
- Maintain personal professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement
Requirements
- Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field or CDA required
- Minimum 2 years of experience in classroom
- High energy and the ability to work well with others (staff, children and parents) and to foster a team environment
- A strong understanding of child development
- Flexible, able to adapt to diverse situations that may arise.
- Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification
- Must pass background check and annual health screening.

Benefits
This is a 32 hour per week teaching position. The standard workday is 8:30 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. and the start date would be August 14,2023. Salary is commensurate with education and experience. We offer 8 days paid off for holidays, PDO time depending on days worked at WBWP, bonuses, and paid conference fee one per year.
