Summary

Join us for our Summer Program serving children ages 12 months through 5 years of age! Located in the heart of North Conway, The Lilliputian School is a non-profit community school providing a unique learning environment for young children in the Mount Washington Valley for over 3 decades. The Assistant Teacher supports the Lead Teacher and the Director by helping to create a caring and safe environment for the children and assisting in activities to improve the overall care and quality of education. S/he must be able to communicate, listen and work well with others in a team environment. Assisting the staff in implementing a quality educational program and in developing positive relationships with the children and their families and caregivers. The Assistant Teacher observes and documents children’s interest and progress, and relays that information back to the Lead Teacher. Assistant Teachers are responsible for implementing developmentally appropriate activities based on children’s interests and needs under the direction of the Lead Teacher and the Director.

2023 Summer Program | M-F | 8am-3pm | 7 Weeks

Starting June 26 through August 18 with the week of 4th of July off.

Potential for year-round employment for the right candidate.

Duties

• Assist in the implementation of curricula activities and encourage participation by children.
• Actively engage in activities; manage cleanliness, maintenance, and availability of classroom materials.
• Maintain frequent communications with Lead Teacher, Teaching Team and the Director.
• Encourage self-help and good hygiene through behavior modeling.
• Help ensure smooth, daily transition from home to child care center.
• Follow all center policies and NH Child Care Licensing Rules.

Requirements

• Minimum of 1-2 years of professional child care experience.
• 9 credits in ECE or 3 credits in Child Growth & Development + 1000 hours in a licensed childcare center or 90 college credits + professional childcare experience.
• High energy and love of the outdoors!
• Ability to work well with others and be a team player, willing to jump in wherever help is needed.
• Strong oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills.
• An understanding of child development.
• Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Must clear full background check and must pass health screening.
• Must complete 10 hours of online Health/Safety Training within the first week of employment.

Nice To Haves

• Infant/Child CPR and First Aid Certification
• Experience with the Montessori Environment
• Experience with Outdoor Based Education
