Floater/Substitute Childcare Teacher/Backup Cook Part Time

Summary

This position is for a floating teacher/substitute to cover staff outages and vacations. The schedule would vary anywhere from coming in at 7am to staying until 6pm. Because this is a floating position you would work with children from ages 6 weeks to 5 years and in between.

Our pay scale is based on experience and education. We do our best to help our staff gain the education they need to have to gain raises outside of regular raises at little to no cost to our staff through several programs offered through the state. If you have an interest in a career in early childhood education this is a great place for you.

Duties

• Caring for children of varying ages with the ability to anticipate their needs
• Changing diapers when applicable
• Helping children potty train/use the bathroom if needed
• Supervising Children properly
• Teaching children using Developmentally appropriate practices
• Supporting the teachers in their rolls (providing assistance where extra hands are needed such as meal times or transitional times)
• Communication with parents as necessary
• Communication with coworkers as necessary
• Keep up on daily recordkeeping (attendance, transition sheets, etc.)
• Maintaining a Safe and Clean environment. Some duties will involve cleaning bathrooms (and toilets), classrooms, toys, common areas, etc.
• Comfort and guide infants, toddlers, and preschoolers

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent

Must pass background check/fingerprints

Must pass health screening (standard heath physical)

Ability to withstand Heat and Cold (We are required to take the children out year round weather permitting)

Ability to stand, bend, stoop, and sit on the ground for periods of time

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
