Once Upon a Time Schoolhouse is looking for full-time or part-time assistant and lead teachers. Teachers must be able to communicate, listen and work well with others in a team environment. They will assist co-teachers in implementing a quality educational program and develop positive relationships with the children and their parents. Teachers are responsible for implementing developmentally appropriate activities based on children's interests and needs under the direction of the lead teacher. We will train those new to the childcare industry. Assistant teachers often continue their education to receive their lead teacher certification and move into lead classroom teacher roles.
Create and implement lesson plans and encourage participation by children.
Actively engage in activities; manage cleanliness, maintenance, and availability of classroom materials.
Maintain frequent communications with parents through informal discussions and progress reports.
Encourage self-help and good hygiene through behavior modeling.
Help ensure smooth, daily transition from home to child care center.
Follow all center policies and state regulations.

Once Upon a Time Schoolhouse is located in Belleville, WI approximately 15 minutes from Verona and 30 minutes from Monroe. We are located in the old Belleville Elementary School. We serve infants through school-aged children. Our operating hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. We create and implement our lesson plans using Creative Curriculum. We use positive guidance and follow the Pyramid Model framework with the intentions of becoming an implementation site spring of 2023. Each classroom receives 2 hours of lesson planning time each week, additional conference planning time in preparation for parent/teacher conferences, and other incentives throughout the year.
