The JAM Center offers a Before and After School enrichment program called I14. The program is located at the Garrett-Keyser-Butler School Annex. At I14, children are exploring concepts of the world around them through conversation, imagination, investigation, and innovation. It is a chance for children in grades Kindergarten through 5th grade to work on practical life skills while igniting their curiosity and desire to learn about the topics that interest them. The students enrolled in our program are planned for based on their individual interests, needs, and learning goals. The way children choose to invest their time will look different for each child.
Our operating hours for the school year are 6:00 am - school drop off and after school pick up - 6:00pm. Our operating hours are 6:00am - 6:00pm on school breaks, e-learning days, and school cancellations. Our staff hours may vary within those times. We value the dedication to our teachers furthering their education, so we support and accommodate school schedules. We also offer a scholarship to eligible candidates for the TEACH scholarship.
Our organization strives to maintain a collaborative and supportive environment not only in the classrooms, but the entire facility. When we refer to our "JAM family" we mean it.
We provide on site training for all of our staff. The classroom portion of training includes a 2 week training and shadowing period with the lead teacher of the classroom. It includes observing and hands-on experience. In addition to the training with the lead teacher, new teachers will meet with the Pedagogista to reflect in principle. The meetings with the Pedagogista are ongoing to support professional development. At JAM Early Education, we believe that learning is lifelong and just as our students, our teachers are all in different places in their journey. We meet everyone where they are!

Vision
JAMEE is an early education program that strives to be:
A place of wonder and joy.
A place that honors children, their thoughts, and ideas by providing a nurturing environment that stimulates learning, entices curiosity, and encourages expression through the hundred languages. The individual child is given space and the needed support to become independent thinkers of their own pace.
A place that partners with families and community by providing opportunities to learn and work together as well as sharing the children's experiences with one another.
A place that recognizes educators as thinkers, researchers, and leaders forging the way to provide the best education and care for young learners.
Philosophy
Our school is guided by the principles of child development and the philosophy of Reggio Emilia. One principle we uphold is that children learn through the construction of their own knowledge which supports all domains of development. Another guiding principle of the Reggio Emilia philosophy we abide by is that children have "rights." At JAM Early Education we put special focus on the "right to nature" and the "right to create." We are continually improving our practices through the study and application of this philosophy.
JAM Early Education believes children have the right to a safe, nurturing, and choice-filled environment. We believe children succeed and learn best when allowed independence, exploration of interests, and expression of their individuality. We promote respect, kindness, beauty, love, order, and a positive environment. We value the religious, economic, cultural, and education diversity of children and families, and we will work with you to incorporate these aspects into the student's day.
JAM Early Education provides hands-on activities and real-life experiences. Through these opportunities children find meaning in the work they do thus increasing their depth of learning. We introduce children to ideas starting with the simplest form of an idea (ex. putting on their shoes) and moving into more complexity (ex. tying their own shoes). We believe each child has the capacity for growth and development and is guided to develop in all areas: emotional, social, creative, physical, spiritual, and intellectual. We offer opportunities that are right for their current developmental needs. We strive to nurture the lifelong enthusiasm for learning within each child.
