The Teacher will ensure that a warm, positive, home-like environment that fosters supportive relationships between families and staff is provided. The Teacher is responsible for supporting the Lead Teacher in planning, organizing and implementing curriculum that meets the developmental needs of the children in the program. The Teacher assists in communication with parents, documenting children's developmental progress and fills in for the Lead Teacher in his/her absence. The Teacher will follow all NH State rules and regulations for childcare and reports directly to the Lead Teacher any problems, concerns or questions. Supports the Lead Teacher to ensure appropriate activities are available and planned for all children. Guidance and re-direction is provided through positive reinforcement and modeling behaviors.


    Supports team to provide a safe, clean, developmentally appropriate, engaging learning environment both in and out of doors.

    Observe and assess each child's learning strengths and challenges to assist Lead Teacher in developing curriculum to support growth and learning in the areas of:

physical, cognitive, early reading/literacy, math, science, problem solving, music/movement, and social/emotional development.

    Assists Lead Teacher to develop and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans incorporating large and small group experiences, free choice time, and child and teacher directed activities that are directed to each child's goals.

    Works with Lead Teacher to intentionally assess children using the Ages and Stages screening tool. Upload observations into Brightwheel.

    Bring concerns regarding children's growth and development to the Lead Teacher/Director to strategize next steps if necessary.

    Support the Lead Teacher in preparing for and conducting annual (at minimum) Family/Teacher conferences.

    Participate in designing and following a consistent schedule in keeping with the needs of the overall classroom, incorporating appropriate transitional activities and allowing for flexibility based on needs of the children.

    Encourage experimentation, exploration, problem solving, cooperation, socialization, and choice-making; ask open-ended questions and listen respectfully to the answers.

    Provide an atmosphere that promotes and reinforces family involvement. 

    Supervise and monitor children at all times. Perform regular head counts to ensure all children are accounted for. Always know the number of children in attendance and communicate it with other team members.

    Welcome new children and families into the classroom environment. Support Lead Teacher in communicating with new families and answering questions.

    Respond to crisis or emergency situations that may occur. 


    Be at least 18 years of age. 

Must have a minimum of 9 college credits or CDA. 

Have 1 year working experience in the field preferred.

Complete the pre-service Health and Safety trainings and have valid CPR/First Aid certification.
