The assistant teacher in the Toddler classroom must be able to be quick to respond to children's needs, able to be flexible and supportive for families, handle duties as given by Lead Teacher and Center Director, including but not limited to feeding, supporting potty training, helping children with self-help skills, and assisting in developmentally appropriate play and activities.
Supporting Lead teacher with curriculum, engaging in circle time, rest time, variety of activities to help children develop appropriate skills. Have a sense of humor, be a team player, cooperate in center-wide projects, be professional and courteous with families and colleagues, contribute ideas and support children with curriculum and projects. Participate in meal times, diapering responsibilities, cleaning the classroom, and doing personal professional development.
High school diploma or equivalent, current CPR/1st aid card, completion of 45 hour course on child development, ability to lift up to 50 pounds
12 months experience in a group care setting, college course work in child development
