Summary
Lead/Associate Teachers are responsible for developing a cohesive teaching team, coordinating the curriculum, and managing the day-to-day operational activities of the classroom. Teachers must understand children's cognitive, social, emotional and physical development in order to ensure a safe and stimulating classroom environment where children are actively engaged and encouraged to succeed. Teachers must be skilled in communicating with both children and adults in order to meet the needs of the children, effectively guide teacher assistants, and resolve parental concerns.
Assistant Teachers are responsible for providing support to the classroom teacher, engaging with the children and parents, and must be skilled in communicating with both children and adults in order to meet the needs of the children.

Duties
Lead Teacher & Associate Teacher
- Coordinate and implement educational curriculum by developing classroom activities based on developmentally appropriate practices and early learning standards
- Lead by example; encourage teaching team success through modeling and coaching.
- Plan individual and group age-appropriate activities to actively engage children and encourage social, cognitive and emotional growth.
- Maintain frequent communications with parents through informal discussions, and progress reports.
- Ensure all center policies and state regulations are met.
- Ensure a healthy classroom environment - including maintaining appropriate hygiene and cleanliness standards and safety and security of children.
- Supervise teacher assistants and classroom volunteers to ensure they are following planned activities, hygiene and safety standards.
- Maintain accurate records, forms and files.
- Maintain personal professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement.
Assistant Teacher
- Provide support to the teacher and children throughout the day in all activities.
- Ensure all center policies and state regulations are met.
- Ensure a healthy classroom environment - including maintaining appropriate hygiene and cleanliness standards and safety and security of children.
Requirements
- Must complete state required trainings within the specified time frame.
- Minimum of 2 years of professional child care experience.
- Strong oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills.
- High energy and the ability to work well with others (staff, children, and parents) and to foster a team environment.
- A strong understanding of child development.
- Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification.
- Must clear full background check and must pass health screening.
- Requirements include the ability to take frequent walks, use hands and fingers, handle objects, tools or controls, talk to and hear voices at many levels. May also be required to kneel, bend, squat or crawl.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Lead teachers must have a minimum of 18 Early Childhood Education credits from an accredited college/university. This must include Human Growth and Development
- Associate teachers must have a minimum of 9 Early Childhood Education credits from an accredited college/university. This must include Human Growth and Development.
- Assistant teachers must have a minimum of one year of experience working with children.

About Us
Ms. Darlene's has been serving the Southern New Hampshire area since 1999. We started as a family group childcare and in 2013 grew to an Early Learning Center. We pride ourselves on the education and care we provide to each individual child.
The staff at Ms. Darlene's are loving and nurturing. They take their time getting to know each child to properly care for their needs. The goal of our team is to ensure all children feel as though they are at their home away from home and are prepared academically and socially when they leave Ms. Darlene's and head to Elementary School.
