This position is responsible for assisting the Regional Director and Assistant Regional Assistant Director in the overall leadership and management of the school. This position is responsible for the smooth day-to-day operations, financial management, curriculum delivery, employee/student retention and achievement, parent/community relations, and strategic planning for the school. The Assistant Director must perform a variety of highly responsible, confidential, and complex administrative duties in assisting the Director. Duties include but are not limited to assuming responsibilities in the absence of the Director, bookkeeping/recording procedures, model of excellence in demeanor, curriculum, knowledge, and employee relations.
Roles and Responsibility;
Thorough understanding and ability of undertaking Director duties during any absence of the Director
Open and or close the center daily.
Stay abreast and understand the Department of Health Rules and Regulations, and new developments in early childhood education
Support Director in ensuring proper administration of all requirements of the CACFP
Work, interact, and communicate professionally and effectively with all internal and external customers, and vendors
Prioritize and coordinate staff work assignments
Maintains a variety of written materials while preserving confidentiality of written materials regarding students and personnel.
Order and maintain supplies for site.
Work with vendors to coordinate delivery of materials
Supports departmental objectives by performing other related duties as assigned
Understanding of ongoing personnel growth and employee development
Thorough knowledge of new hire paperwork, orientation, and payroll process
Works effectively with team to accomplish long- and short-term goals of the organization
Assists in scheduling CPR, First Aid, and staff meetings
Markets site to prospective parents and initiates follow-up with prospective parents
Openly communicates with parents regarding child's placement, progress, and changes
Welcomes all visitors at center
Assume additional responsibilities as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
Sufficient ability to lift 30 lbs.
Able to stand and walk approximately 50% of the day. Ability to squat, kneel, crouch, and bend at the knees frequently throughout the day and bend at the waist on an infrequent basis.
Ability to reach above the shoulders frequently throughout the day with a weight of up to 10lbs
Process a current fingerprint clearance
Infant/child CPR and First AID certification
Must pass a health screening
Education/Experience Required:
At least 21 years of age
Provide documentation of one of the following
a) High school or high school equivalency diploma and 6 credit hours or more in early childhood, child development, or closely related field in an accredited college or university, or 60 actual hours of instructions, provided in conferences seminars, lectures, or workshops in areas of early childhood, child development, or closely related field, and 24 months or more of childcare experience.
b) C.D.A, C.C.P., credential, and at least 18 months of childcare experience
c) A minimum of 24 credit hours from an accredited college or university, including at least 6 credit hours of course work in areas of early childhood, child development, or closely related field, and 6 months of childcare experience
Knowledge of principles and procedures of bookkeeping, record keeping, and reporting.
