Summary

A floater is an individual who brings their love of children and teaching into everything they do. They are someone who is eager to work with children of all ages. Someone who is inspired to create, educate, nurture, and lead a thriving program for active children. The role of the floater is to support the teaching staff in their time of absence by performing various tasks throughout the classroom and help foster the development of the children intellectually, socially, emotionally, and physically.

Duties

  • Maintain a safe learning environment that is responsive to the social/emotional, physical, cognitive, and language development of children in assigned classrooms.
  • Execute each day's activities as directed.
  • Prepare meals (breakfast, lunch, and snack) as needed.
  • Assist children with daily life activities (restroom use, diapering, hand washing)
  • Appropriately supervise children while keeping them safe at all times.
  • Work closely with co-workers in implementing planned lessons, complete records as directed, and log daily activities in our parent portal.
  • Creating and maintaining an environment that is clean, organized, and safe for all children.
  • Establish a professional level of rapport with family in order to provide a friendly atmosphere.
  • Best responsible for daily activities pertaining to eating, sleeping, and diaper changing.
  • Maintain a professional self image and project the values of the organization at all times.
  • Be responsible for completing the required daily and weekly nap time tasks (when applicable).

Requirements

  • Have a high school degree or equivalent education and at least one year of qualifying experience working with children birth-5 years old.
  • Submit to various background checks including those completed through the Department of Social Services, national fingerprinting. If you have lived out of state within the last 5 years, an out of state background screening will also need to be conducted through the Department of Social Services, and a local state background check.
  • Be pediatric CPR & First Aide certified.
  • Be flexible between the hours of 6:30am-6:00pm M-F
