Job Description

We are looking for a positive, energetic, and creative individual to join our talented staff. Our preferred candidate would need to have strong organizational, administrative, and communication skills and be eager to start immediately on a path of shared learning. The ideal candidate will have a friendly, smiling, and easy-going personality while also being very perceptive, responsible, and disciplined. A customer-oriented approach is essential. Must meet basic requirements of local child care regulatory agency.

Duties

  • Monitor all classrooms/facility (adhere to proper state codes)
  • Assist Director with planning, managing, and marketing
  • Maintain center paperwork: staff files updated to DCF standards, in-service hours, monthly events
  • Implements policies and programs
  • Supervise teachers - provide mentoring
  • Tour the facility when needed it
  • Helping when hiring - interviewing staff
  • Provide new hiring training
  • Monitoring staff to ensure they are accurately performing
  • Monitors daily license ratios

Requirements

Required Experience and Skills:

  • Previous experience as an Assistant Director is preferred.
  • Early childhood classroom teaching experience (Desirable).
  • Strong communication and people skills.
  • Good organizational and multi-tasking abilities.
  • Must be a team player, able to adapt to continuously changing, fast-paced environment.
  • Have a love for children and a strong desire to make a difference.

Required Education/Certifications:

  • AA Degree or Higher in Early Childhood Education preferred
  • 45 Hours and CDA required
  • Director Credential preferred
  • CPR and First Aid required
