Substitute Teachers - Midlands Area

Summary

We are looking for Substitute Teachers to work with children ages 1 to 5 years old on an as-needed basis at multiple locations in the Midlands area. The teacher must have great love and patience for children.

Qualifications needed to follow a completed lesson plan effectively and the ability to engage children while earning their trust and attention.

Duties

• Employ a variety of educational techniques (storytelling, educational play, media, etc.) to teach children
• Guide children to develop their artistic and practical capabilities through a carefully constructed curriculum (identify shapes, numbers or colors, do crafts, etc.)
• Follow the schedule and supervise children to ensure they are safe at all times
• Collaborate with other educators
• Maintain a clean and tidy environment consistent with health and safety standards

Requirements

• Effective communication and instructional skills
• Ability to act as a mediator between children
• Cool-tempered, friendly, and reliable
• High School Diploma/GED
• Clear SLED, FBI, and Central Registry background checks
