Summary
The Clerk/Parent Involvement Specialist supports the Center Manager in the area of center operations.
Duties
- Performs phone, reception, and clerical duties for the Head Start center.
- Provides assistance to the Center Manager/center staff in coordination and communication activities to facilitate effective center operation and component integration; and conducts assigned center/program activities necessary for effective, efficient delivery of services.
- Assists Center Manager and center staff in the conduct and documentation of center parent involvement and volunteer services/activities.
- Completes substitute duties as needed/requested - filling in for teaching staff absences on a regular basis.
- Establishes and maintains systems for assuring adequate center supplies, equipment, and materials under the direction of the Center Manager.
- Demonstrates work habits which comply with agency personnel policies and procedures, and completes special assignments from immediate supervisor or Head Start Director.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED
- Established work history
- Valid Driver's License & ability to obtain Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Be at least 25 years of age (DOT requirement to obtain the CDL)
- Criminal background check (fingerprint, vulnerable person's registry, etc.)
- Ability to meet and work with the public, good reception and telephone skills are required.
- Physical ability to work with young children - up and down on floor, on and off buses, on playground, lifting up to 50 lbs. to carry a child, move furniture, etc.
- Legally eligible to work in the US
