Summary
Early Learning Tree is looking for and Infant/Toddler teacher to join our team. This position is part time (approximately 30 hours per week) to start which may end up in a full time position as we grow. This person will relieve the lead teachers for lunch breaks and at the end of each day to close out classrooms. The position requires experience with children 6 weeks old and older. Position will begin Feb 3, 2025.
Our center has served the Claxton community (between Powell and Clinton) for over 30 years. We are looking for someone that enjoys inspiring children, provides quality care, and to become a cooperative positive addition to our staff.
Duties
The Teacher is responsible for managing the day-to-day operational activities of the classroom, planning lessons from a themed curriculum, and carrying out the Early Learning Developmental Standards established by the TN Dept of Human Services. Teachers must understand children's cognitive, social, emotional and physical development in order to ensure a safe and stimulating classroom environment where children are actively engaged and encouraged to succeed. The Teacher must be skilled in communicating with both children and adults in order to meet the needs of the children, effectively work with other staff, and resolve parental concerns.
- Interactively play with children
- Coordinate and implement educational curriculum by developing classroom activities based on developmentally appropriate practices and early learning standards
- Lead by example; encourage teaching team success through modeling and coaching.
- Plan individual and group age-appropriate activities to actively engage children and encourage social, cognitive and emotional growth.
- Maintain frequent communications with parents through informal discussions, progress reports, and parent-teacher conferences.
- Ensure all center policies and state regulations are followed.
- Ensure a healthy classroom environment - including maintaining appropriate hygiene and cleanliness standards and safety and security of children.
- Maintain accurate records, forms and files.
- Maintain personal professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement.
Requirements
- Hold a minimum of a High School diploma or GED
- Strong oral and written communication skills and basic computer/technical product (tablets) skills.
- High energy and the ability to work well with others (staff, children, and parents) and to foster a team environment.
- A strong understanding of child development and education with some experience working with children
- Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification - (do not need to start but will have to acquire soon after starting position)
- Must clear full background check and must pass health screening.
- Excellent planning, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Nice To Haves
