Robins Nest Children's Center is looking for an energetic Assistant Teacher or Trainee to join our 5-STAR child care program. This position is a great opportunity for a motivated educator to work with children from infants to age five in a play-based environment. Primary responsibilities include working in multi-age classrooms to promote learning and development, collaborating with our experienced team, engaging in emergent curriculum, and communicating with children, parents, and staff. The ideal candidate for an Assistant Teacher will have completed early childhood or related coursework and have at least a year of experience working with children. Robin's Nest will support an enthusiastic Trainee candidate, new to the field of early childhood education, with necessary training and coursework.
Duties
- Initiate and direct activities to aid in development
- Communicate with children, staff, and parents regarding specific daily information
- Ensure the health and safety of all children
- Diapering and bathroom assistance
- Follow all policies and procedures as defined by RNCC
- Adhere to NAEYC's code of ethics
- Help maintain the center's cleanliness through various duties
Requirements
- At least 18 years of age
- An understanding of child development and eagerness to learn more
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- A good sense of humor!
- Must successfully pass a full background check
Nice To Haves
- Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification
- Mandated reporter training
- At least one year of experience working with young children
