Description

Summary

Working with young children in a preschool developmentally appropriate center. Perform a variety of tasks such as lesson planning, daily routines, child portfolios, feeding, and overseeing play.

Duties

  • Support children's emotional and social development, encouraging understanding of others and positive self-concepts.
  • Care for children in institutional setting, such as group homes, nursery schools, private businesses, or schools for the handicapped.
  • Sanitize toys and play equipment.
  • Discipline children and recommend or initiate other measures to control behavior, such as caring for own clothing and picking up toys and books.
  • Identify signs of emotional or developmental problems in children and bring them to parents' or guardians' attention.
  • Observe and monitor children's play activities.
  • Keep records on individual children, including daily observations and information about activities, meals served, and medications administered.
  • Instruct children in health and personal habits, such as eating, resting, and toilet habits.
  • Read to children and teach them simple painting, drawing, handicrafts, and songs.
  • Organize and store toys and materials to ensure order in activity areas.
  • Operate in-house day-care centers within businesses.
  • Sterilize bottles and prepare formulas.
  • Dress children and change diapers.
  • Perform housekeeping duties, such as laundry, cleaning, dish washing, and changing of linens.
  • Maintain a safe play environment.
  • Communicate with children's parents or guardians about daily activities, behaviors, and related issues.
  • Create developmentally appropriate lesson plans.
  • Regulate children's rest periods.

Benefits

FT Employees - defined as employees who regularly work 32 or more hours per week

PTO hours are based upon each employee's seniority level

 

PT Employees - defined as employees who regularly work between 24- 32 hours per week

 

Benefits include: Optional Retirement Fund (403B), Life Insurance, Paid Holidays, when the holiday falls on a scheduled day, for the regularly scheduled hours,

 

Paid Holidays: New Year's Day, Martin Luther King Day, President's Day, Good Friday, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, the day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve Day, Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve Day.

 

Paid Time Off (PTO) Compensation Rates:

        New Full-Time Employees will accrue:

10 days (80 hours) PTO over the first year of employment.

 

        Full-Time Employees 1 to 5 years will accrue:

15 days (120 hours) PTO

 

        Full-Time Employees 6 to 10 years will accrue:

20 days (160 hours) PTO

 

        Full-Time Employees 11 or more years will accrue:

25 days (200 hours) PTO


Employee will be paid for Jury Duty.

About Us

Park Lake PCCC is devoted to loving, nurturing and educating children, Infants through Pre-K.

We've been serving children and families at Park Lake for over 50 years. We have children here whose parents and grandparents have attended the school. That says a lot about what people think about our program.

Most of our staff have been here 5 years or more. Our VPK teachers have been teaching over 35 years and have had excellent scores for the Reading Readiness evaluation for Kindergarten
