The schedule for the School Aged Lead teacher is 10am to 6pm with a paid 30 minute lunch break as the school aged children do not arrive until 3:45pm. We are open to a split shift schedule with a long break during the day. During the summer, we switch to camp programming and have the ability to adjust schedules for the summer months.
Duties
- Plans, leads, and implements school aged care and camp programs for children.
- Provides high-quality educational and recreational opportunities and enjoyable experiences for participants.
- Supervises students and ensures their safety, development, growth, skill achievement, and general well-being.
- Maintains a schedule for participants.
- Facilitates and creates lesson plans for daily activities.
- Organizes and leads various small and large group activities
- Ensures the cleanliness of the site.
- Assists in maintaining accurate program records, including incident reports, logbook documentation, and daily attendance.
- Knows and understands all emergency procedures associated with the camp program.
- Records and tracks students’s dietary restrictions/allergies and ensures that the meals/snacks are distributed to them.
- Mediates any students’ disputes.
- Knows, enforces, and follows all safety guidelines associated with the camp program, including knowing the whereabouts of your charges at all times.
- Maintains constant surveillance of the pool/body of water areas while participating.

Education and Experience Requirements:
- Education and/or experience in camp, youth programs, recreation, working with children, babysitting, or in a related field
- First AID and CPR certified
- Must be able to pass criminal background check and fingerprinting in Virginia
Nice To Haves
- clean driving record and the willingness to learn to drive a small bus
- CDL a plus!
