Cooks must be able to read, write, and implement proper measurements. Cooks must be trained and understand the policies and procedures for health department guidelines, the Child Adult Food Care Program and center policies. This person must be able to inventory stock weekly and monthly. Proper health and sanitization must be implemented at all times. There are no shortcuts to sanitization. Food must be properly stocked, stored, and labeled. Cooks must be strong enough to correct care providers if they are not following sanitization guidelines and proper storage of center items only. Cooks must be able to prohibit unauthorized items in the refrigerator meaning only properly dated and labeled food to be stored in the refrigerator while medications should be stored in a locked container. Crock pots and refrigerators in classrooms are strictly prohibited. Additional duties may apply as deemed necessary by the administration.
