Description

Summary

Child and Family Agency's Early Childhood Development Center is hiring a full-time Infant/Toddler Teacher to work with children ages 6 weeks-3 years. Candidates must have experience working with young children. 12 Early Childhood credits required with childcare experience with children ages 0-3. Knowledge of OEC licensing, NAEYC Accreditation and CT ELDS/DOTS is preferred. This position is based in Groton, CT.

Duties

This position requires strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities, attention to detail and

excellent communication skills.

This employee must:

  • Understand and adhere to the Agency's Mission Statement and Values.
  • Be responsible for the care and education of all center children.
  • Build respectful and positive relationships with children and families while maintaining ongoing written and verbal
  • communications.
  • Plan and create a classroom environment that reflects the developmental needs of the children served.
  • Maintain a neat and orderly classroom, outdoor and center environment that assures compliance with industry
  • health, safety and emergency procedures.
  • Ensure program compliance with all State OEC Licensing Regulations, NAEYC standards, and funding
  • requirements.
  • Plan and implements a curriculum that reflects the individual and/or group developmental needs using the
  • Connecticut Early Learning Development Standards (CTELDS), Connecticut's Documentation and Observation for
  • Teaching System (CTDOTS), and the 211 Parent Sparkler Mobile App for developmental assessment.
  • Participate in required weekly classroom planning sessions and monthly staff meetings.
  • Maintain all required classroom paperwork including accident/incident reports, daily attendance, sign in/outs, daily
  • food stats, monthly newsletters, Classroom DOJO posts, parent conferences, LEP's (lesson plans) and other
  • paperwork as required.
  • Participate in self and program evaluation processes.
  • Work collaboratively with co-workers to build a strong classroom teaching team.
  • Support and direct assistant teaching staff in all classroom responsibilities.
  • Participate in center and community events.
  • Participate in and document annual OEC licensing required professional development in the Center PD Book (20
  • hours per full-time employment; pro-rated for part-time employees).
  • Complete other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Associate's (CDA) or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or
  • related field with 12 ECE credits.
  • Credentials for OEC State Funded Qualified Staff Member (QSM)
  • designation preferred.
  • OEC Head Teacher Certification preferred
  • CPR and First Aid Certified within six months of employment
  • Medication Administration and Emergency Medications (Epi-Pen) within six months of employment
