Teacher Assistant

Summary

Rising Stars Day School is looking for a full-time (Monday - Friday 9:00 am - 5:30 pm) Teacher Assistant for kids ages 2-3 years old!

The Teacher Assistant supports the Lead Teacher and the Director by helping create a caring and safe environment for the children and assisting in activities to improve the overall care and quality of education. We are looking for an assistant who is enthusiastic, has excellent communication, and is a team player. The Teacher Assistant will help in developing positive relationships with the children and their parents. The assistant observes and documents children's interests and progress, and relays that information back to parents through the Brightwheel App.

Duties

• Assist in the implementation of curricular activities and encourage participation
• Actively and enthusiastically engage in classroom activities
• Maintain frequent communications with parents through informal discussions, progress reports, and messages on Brightwheel
• Encourage self-help and good hygiene through behavior modeling
• Help ensure a smooth, daily transition from home to school
• Follow all center policies and state regulations
• Maintain a personal professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement
• Manage cleanliness, maintenance, and availability of classroom materials

Requirements

• Minimum of 1-2 years of professional childcare or classroom experience.
• High energy.
• Ability to work well with others.
• Strong oral and written communication skills in English.
• Basic computer skills.
• Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Must clear a background check.
